 The Asian Pain Symposium (APS) is the main Asian pain meeting. Since its establishment in 2000 (Kyoto, Japan), another two APSs were held in Seoul, Korea (2004) and Fukuoka, Japan (2008), all interested in improving the understanding of pain mechanisms, and the management of acute and chronic pain. The major topic of the APS 2011 is the latest progress of pain research and new strategy of pain treatment, covering disciplines from molecular to anatomical and from basic to clinical studies. The symposium will consist of two-day oral and poster presentation, discussion and social events. APS 2011 are sponsored by the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences (SIBS) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Society for Neuroscience (CSN). SIBS of CAS is a leading research institution for life sciences in China. It was established on July 3, 1999, comprising 8 research institutes and 3 supporting units. Research at SIBS is in three major directions: the basic research of life sciences, translational research on human health and major diseases, and the research on sustainable development of agriculture and environment. CSN was founded in 1995 in Shanghai, registered at the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China. CSN is affiliated to SIBS of CAS. CSN is a nonprofit learned society of Chinese neuroscientists from universities, research institutions and hospitals all over the country. Currently it has more than 3500 members distributed in all the provinces except for Taiwan province and Xizang Autonomous Region. CSN has already joined International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) in 1995 as corporate member. The aim of the Society is to unite the neuroscientists throughout the country to contribute to the development of neuroscience in China and to the flourish of China"s modernization. 征文范围及要求:The 4th Asian Pain Symposium (APS2011) will be held in Shanghai on May 16-17, 2011. We invite submissions from all contributing disciplines within pain research. Abstract Submission The deadline for abstract submission is January 31st, 2011 You must have completed advance registration before submitting an abstract. Each conference participant can only submit one abstract. Prepare your abstract in English as the example. The abstract must contains: title, names of authors, affiliated institutions, contact e-mail address, main text of abstract and keywords. The maximum number of characters for body is 2,500 (including the title, the names of authors, institutions, spaces, etc.) Abstracts may be changed only before January 31st. Give clear indication of re-submission by email. After Jan 31st, no changes are permitted.
